so i work for a pretty important company Thats contracted through the government and something had happened w our parent company (details i cannot disclose[nda]) and now they are forcing everyone to use vacation hours or pto or days off not paid due to the failure. this was totally out of our hands and i feel like our parent company is just trying to dog us out of a couple bucks, when we literally bring in 800k-1.5m a day, since our bosses technically are employed through the parent and simply trinkle down info to our supervisors on what needs to get done etc. Is that legal to give a 5 days notice? Is that even legal at all to just say hey no work next week sorry. i penny pinch cus im just some kid who lives by himself w crazy amounts of bills and honestly it upset me kinda cus i was hoping to save all my vacation time for when i could actuslly do something for a vacation :/
Tldr job said no work next week 5 days ago. gave us a choice to use our sick pay/ vacation time/ not get paid. (thurs/fri is holiday pay atleast )
