Alright, this one’s going to be pretty long but the whole situation seems super out of pocket and I’m not sure where else I would share it. Basically I managed a very small store based on summer tourism in a smaller town. The owner when I started was an amazing man who went above and beyond to help me through some difficult times. Unfortunately in December of 2022 he passed away unexpectedly. I cannot express how truly heartbroken I still am over this as he was one of the best men i’d ever had the honor to know. His son moved in to take over the business and had become very close with me. In honor of his father we got similar tattoos which I sketched and he paid for. The kind of close where we had appointments one after the other in the same room. For the sake of ease im just going to name the son “boss”. Anyways at the beginning of the summer boss had begun bringing in bottles of vodka to drink while at work. Pressuring me to drink with him and return to setting up the store (I am still underage to drink) admittedly I accepted on one occasion but it made me uncomfortable so going foreword I refused. He proceeded to buy me a bottle of vodka for my 19th birthday at the beginning of the summer. On multiple occasions he was persistent that I try cocaine with him which I am very uncomfortable with. He even went as far as to put out lines for me and did not stop until I had a half hour long conversation with him as to why iI will never accept his offer. He was very touchy with me even though I always made it clear I did not want to be touched. One day in a store house He snuck up being me and grabbed my waist to which I spun around and said don’t fing touch me and he laughed saying i was funny when i was cranky. infront of customers he walked in one day with money bags and smacked my butt with them and gestures for me to follow him to the back room. when confronted he didn’t understand that i was mad about where he touched me not how. my staff was comprised of 14-17 year old girls and one boy. i felt i had to stay to protect them. he had me work overtime frequently but because his mom would not allow overtime he promised to pay me in cash that never came. lord to employees about benefits. frequently shorted my checks. took credit for ideas and intense labor i did. mind you i’m 5’1 female at 110 pounds doing jobs he should have been easily able to do. the idea of him running a store with minor employees makes me extremely uncomfortable. if anyone sees this and is truly interested i can update with screenshots when it fits the guidelines. businessmen take their privilege so far sometimes and that’s what’s ruining industries.
