Hoping this is the right subreddit, I'm antiwork but currently having to work a call center job this year to make ends meet.
At my job, we don't get paid time off, but we apparently have a 120 hr yearly limit of hours you can take off. Regardless of whether it's planned or not or what the reason for the time off is, it all goes toward your yearly total.
I have had a lot of illness issues in general and from new meds, as well as doctors visits this year, which have made up the majority (90%) of my time taken off. I have bipolar depression and scoliosis and other issues that cause me a lot of problems.
I understand that jobs can't just have reps calling out all the time but there must be some way there can be an allowance for my situation because it's not like I'm just calling out to sit around, and my work hours are 9-6:30 M-F which happens to be the only time doctor's offices generally have appointments available.
Does anyone know of a workaround for this? The job pays well for the little work I do and I'd really like to keep the job but at this rate with the time I've taken off I need to figure out a solution ASAP.
Thank you!
