My ex boss and her husband own 2 shops in a small town on the oregon coast, and every employee she's had work for her (3 of them, including myself) are aware that she's an alcoholic/takes Xanax with alcohol and will show up in the work place intoxicated to pick up cash bags or call/text us intoxicated late at night and rambles about things that have never happened or brags about her life. she's come in intoxicated it's made customers extremely uncomfortable by how loud she's being/things she says and simply how out of it she is/while treating us not the best but what can we say she's the owner, I ran the Bayfront store and my other co worker ran nye, we loved the customers but our bosses made it hard to stay. my coworker had verified he dropped his wallet on the dock and did not have ID and our boss multiple times stated that he needed to have her bank call her when he cashed his check so he could have access to his money and shed be happy to verify his identity, so he could get his new ID. I offered him a ride after work since he dropped his car off the day prior for repairs, we get to the bank and everything is going smooth and good, the bank teller called and was so nice and understanding, he got his money and I told him we could stop by dmv too and he was down. Then, our boss called him and started cussing him out and he tried to stay professional asking her to stop yelling at him and what was wrong, our boss started saying it was so ridiculous she had to confirm the check and that he should have warned her, I was confused and so was he, he put it on speaker so I could listen and he tried explaining that he was messaging her the week prior about this and spoke with her on the phone twice about it because it was her idea for him to do that instead of endorsing it to his girlfriend to deposit it at the bank and apologized and that he didn't understand since it was her idea and she was happy to do it all the way till now, she then cussed him out more denying all of it and called him a slur and fired him, we were shocked at what she had called him, he started to cry and just said I won't tolerate this and hung up.. she was blowing up his phone with text and calls saying horrible things he blocked her, then immediately she started calling me and demanding I get him to answer her and calling him slurs, I asked her to stop saying that and that I couldn't make him do anything with a polite tone of voice and she lost it stating she took Xanax and needed another shot because this was bull*hit and I needed to step up.. fired me because I am “incompetent”… she has since blown up my phone all day and night calling me to the point I blocked her because I'm not her employee and her behavior was overall toxic, I woke up to rows of messages on a different number and socials, she was threatening me and stating she'd make sure I couldn't get a job in this small town and demanding I tell her where I've started applying BUT I should come talk to her Friday about working for her!! I called the number and again she's intoxicated slurring and saying things that made absolutely no sense at all, I stated if she kept contacting me I was going to call the police and file a report for harassment, , I blocked everything after that and hung up.. I just cried because I've never dealt with this in my life, I felt trapped and I've never had a bad reputation with a work place before even though I haven't done a thing to my boss. I know the ex employee works at grocery outlet and so I decided to go and talk to her because this can't be the 1st time this has happened and wanted to hear her side, I had asked where “j” (won't use her name) she agreed to have coffee with me and chat, and that's when I got her side and she lived the very same thing but she had explained that they are narrassits/sociopath and that I needed to make a police report.(P.s oregon coast city we live in is very tourist based and small town, it's a retirement town or a place for younger people “20s” to start)
