I’m starting a new job and it feels like my current boss is wishing me BAD luck

Me again from this post. This week is never ending. So as I explained in my last post, I'm leaving my current job next week and management is not happy. My boss announced my departure to our team. On the team call, he said he heard about how “horrible” it is to work for the company I'm joining, that their business is “struggling”, that their margins are too thin, and that he hopes “nothing bad happens to me there”. Me again from this post. This week is never ending. So as I explained in my last post, I'm leaving my current job next week and management is not happy.

My boss announced my departure to our team. On the team call, he said he heard about how “horrible” it is to work for the company I'm joining, that their business is “struggling“, that their margins are too thin, and that he hopes “nothing bad happens to me there”. Then went on to describe how other people that worked on our team and left in the past year were laid off from their new companies and that he hoped it didn't happen to me.

[To be clear: My boss knows nothing about the new company since they're in a different industry. The company I'm joining is actually doing great even in the current economic environment. They've grown revenue 30% year over year, are cash flow positive, and have the largest market share in the industry; the #2 player only has half the market share that they do. ]

Even though I know that I'm making the right decision… It feels like I'm being hexed. I also didn't like how this happened in a public team meeting. I corrected him privately on the company's performance because I felt a need to defend my decision, but it still felt icky. I need to cleanse this bad juju.
