A friend of mine mentioned someone they knew was demoted immediately after returning to work.
Just before she was approaching her due date, she wanted reassurance from her company that her position and job title would remain secure during her absence. The company is going through a growth spurt and they planned to hire someone to initially help her.
Her manager and supervisor gave her that reassurance that she would have her same position and title when she returned. When she returned, the same manager and supervisor had a sitdown with her and ultimately went back on their word. They claimed it was from some delinquency on some paperwork that they did not like.
She has been working for this company for almost 2 years and no complaints about her, her paperwork were ever mentioned.
She (myself included) live in the shitshine state that is Florida with their amazing labor laws. I am reaching out as both someone looking to help ease her stress as well as if there are any labor laws that should protect her. I’ve been a lurker on the sub and I wanted to say I love you guys and I’m behind the movement 100%
