Story time about work

Not looking for advice, just want to tell a story. I’m a nurse. I went from full time to per diem at my old job because my boss couldn’t meet me half way with scheduling difficulties. I have lots of family obligations, for health reasons I couldn’t do nights anymore. I asked to move to day shift or evening shift and she’s worried to get me to go down to part time with the condition that I would pick up an additional 12 hr shift, putting me at full time hours but with part time benefits (meaning I’d pay double for health insurance). I told her no way. I’d really only agree to full time employment. She originally conceded and gave me the schedule I wanted : Friday Saturday Sunday on days.

But then months later when I asked about when this move would take place she said I would actually have a Monday Wednesday Friday schedule which wouldn’t work. So I agreed to go per diem so I could make my own schedule. The boss emails out open shifts every week. ALL OF THE OPEN SHIFTS ARE ON THE WEEKEND????

So I’m working per diem there and then full time at another job. I hate my full time job but am sticking with it for the experience and the sign on bonus. So I get an email about the holiday party. Originally I was like hell ya, I love parties but then I saw the price. Like legit, why is there a cost to employees to attend the holiday party? $60 per head. I make $60/hr. So basically I would have to give an hour plus of my time for me to go to a holiday party at my job. For the record, my company is a multi billion dollar corporation. They could without a blink afford to throw a swell holiday party for their employees free of charge.

End rant
