I was recruited by a rival software company and everything seemed fine. My first day, my direct boss went on vacation and I was not given a proper onboarding. When she returned we went over Hubstaff (our system to clock in and out) and she specifically told me to enter my time in manually. Showed me how to do it and walked me through the process over Google Meet. I manually entered my time in for the past 3 weeks and was promptly let go the same day for violating company policy. I was also notified that all manual submissions will not count and I won’t be paid for them. I have texts from my boss at the time telling me we will go over manual submissions over our next meeting. What are my options? Can I sue the company? I’m in California but the company was located in Nevada. It was fully remote. Thanks in advance for any help.
