My employer has a PTO Policy in the Employee Handbook but it's unattainable unless you go to administration for it. Every person I've spoken to, long-term & short-term employees say they have no idea about the policy and also don't have the Employee Handbook.
After scouring the Employee Portal & asking literally everyone, I put in my two-week notice requesting my PTO be paid out. After this my administrator gives me the employee handbook that states PTO is not paid out and that mine is now frozen since I gave my two-week notice. I have over 2 weeks of time saved up and I really need/deserve this money paid out. The laws in NY are fairly clear, but since it's not publicly posted/available does anyone think I have a shot at getting this if I get lawyers involved?
