Ever Thought About the Position of Management?

It's kinda weird right? You've got the true bosses, people who make the decisions and call the shots, then you've got the workers, the ones who actually do the job and make the company money. Most of the jobs I've worked that's really all you need. So where do managers come in? Wouldn't it make sense to just have another worker do coordinating tasks with their fellow workers? It'd be more effective in the long run and promote better cooperation because everyone is at a similar level. Thing is, the purpose of managers isn't to effectively manage workers… Their purpose is to provide a buffer between the boss/owner class and the working class. Some managers realize that they are in this position and try to be as human as possible and these are usually the 'best' managers. But at the end of the day it is just a position that…

Thing is, the purpose of managers isn't to effectively manage workers… Their purpose is to provide a buffer between the boss/owner class and the working class.

Some managers realize that they are in this position and try to be as human as possible and these are usually the 'best' managers. But at the end of the day it is just a position that exists to provide a target by paying them slightly more than their fellow workers and putting them in the situation of enforcing the decisions of bosses that will be unpopular with the rest of the workforce.

That's how I see it at least, what are your thoughts?
