Put in a 2 weeks notice. Immediately got fired.

I just wanted to post this because I think it’s crazy. A couple months ago I considered signing up for a flight school because I have a very deep love for Airplanes. I have worked at In N Out for about 5 months and told my boss upon hiring that I was considering joining the school, which he thought was very cool. I told him that if I do join I’ll have to quit to make sure I don’t get behind on anything as it would jeopardize my licenses. I told him that if I do join I’ll have to quit to make sure I don’t get behind on anything as it would jeopardize my licenses. Well fast forward to yesterday, I was accepted into the school and had all my classes set up for me. So I attempted to put a 2 weeks notice in, I went to my boss. Explained why I have to quit, and told him my last day.
Well suddenly he had a change of heart, he couldn’t possibly fathom why being in flight school would require me to quit my job. (Because other kids working there are in flight school but they’re much further along than me)
The second I told him I have to put my 2 weeks in he essentially told me to get out, told me he doesn’t need my work and it would be better off if I just leave. I was shocked, what the fuck happened? Just 5 months ago he seemed understanding when I was getting hired but now when I actually went through with it he lost his cool.

I guess In N Out cares more about customers than their own damn employees, not to mention I’m out of an 800$ paycheck
