I think quiet quitting is here to stay, because it's not a consequence of the pandemic or of some other external thing that happened in the world, but a consequence of people not wanting to believe in lies anymore.
No more will people follow orders that do not make sense. No more will people simply do what is asked of them just to please someone else.
People now know what real value they have for their employers. They have just stopped being blindly obedient and instead look into the consequences of their choices, ask questions and ultimately make decisions that have real, practical value and result in meaningful change.
Quiet quitting is the new way of taking control of one's life and leading the way forward.
It is a sign of hope for the future. All of this was not possible 20 years ago.
It's the ultimate act of self-determination and it is here to stay.
