HR Here-don’t castrate me-Told my C-suite hosting a baby shower for a ol’ boys club employee was a terrible idea and was scapegoated vertically

A team wanted me to sponsor a baby shower for a corporate employee that had long tenure, I explicitly protested with my c-suite that the optics not only, stigmatized the rest of the company’s 500 employees (most will have babies soon -fresh married/20-30) but inviting only select people from the various operations created a hierarchy, if they weren’t going to make it a formal program/celebration for all. The went ahead anyway and excluded me, then said it must’ve been a mistake. This company has multiple lawsuits that I’ve been trying to mitigate in foresight. Put my 2 weeks in Monday and wish them luck.
