Update on the “scheduled for my birthday after being approved the day off” situation

Today I went into work with the intention of either making sure I get the day off, or leaving to find another job. My boss and I had a fairly lengthy conversation regarding the time off, and prior to her coming in, I went through the filing cabinet and found my time off request. I made a personal copy of it for myself and presented the original to her. My old manager, the one who had been fired, had approved it and never told anyone. So this was news to my boss. She still stood firm in the statement of “if nobody can cover, you’re going to have to work.” Fortunately, she ended up calling the coworker that has Friday off, and she was willing to swap her Friday for my Saturday. Shoutout to my amazing coworker for being there when I needed her most. I owe her big time.
