I work for a government institution. They keep taking on more staff, but the workload just isn't materialising.
Fortunately for me, I leave in just over a week to go full time on my own business.
My replacement has been appointed and has taken on 99% of my workload. Consequently, I'm sitting here doing nothing. I've exhausted all of my 'rainy day' tasks, have taken two lunch breaks, browsed Indeed for other jobs of interest and generally mooched around the office chatting with colleagues.
However, I'm appallingly bored and irritated. I've got so much could do at home, so being untasked at work is infuriating.
I can't do any of my home tasks from the work computers due to the way they're set up and bringing in another machine wouldn't look right. I'm seriously considering faking a bout of sickness absence just to kill time.
I am not alone in being untasked, so why not give us gardening leave? Morale is through the floor at the moment…
Please give me ideas of how to pass the time…
