After 2yrs I decided it’s time to go and the first response was….

So after 2yrs of working, each weekend, long weekend, holidays and many days in between. After making myself available anytime, to cover a shift or be an extra. Not seeing a penny in bonus, raise of wage or anything; I felt it was time to go. When I went to sit down with the boss/owner, stating that I feel it's time to leave because: costs are up, gas is up, my mortgage is up and I simply can't afford to continue to drive to work. (understand that I worked in a place where the store could clear 5k+in slow day). After speaking truth and being honest, the reply was ” surprised you stayed this long”. Like wtf? I bust my ass to make this person rich, hoping to reap some sort of benefits. Well, have fun, short staffed over the Christmas rush. Peace out!
