Employer guilt shamed me for wanting more money at a new job

This happened several years ago at my first corporate job after college graduation. Worked with them for 4 years with 2% raises each year except for the first year. I landed a new job that increased my pay 20k more (but they didn’t know that). Every which way she tried to probe until she said in a condescending and shaming tone, “You are leaving because of money.” And I just said as graciously as I could, “No, it is for a new opportunity.” At that time I should have said, “Yes of course it is about money!” Since I had student loans and lived paycheck to paycheck. But I just look back at that exit interview and feeling horrible for being shamed like that. BUT I also realize that they didn’t think of me that valuable in the first place, since I did get a huge pay bump and was probably getting paid lower than average.
