My boss told me that he expects me to take a leadership role in the same sentence that he denied me a promotion.

I’ve worked with my company for over 2 years, and am the second most experienced employee out of the group or 6. Within the last year, I’ve slept in 2 4-hour sessions to help out two separate shifts, taken a pay cut to move to 1st shift, trained 5 employees, taken on additional duties that were not even requested of me, and overall been an excellent employee. Due to a slow season, they allowed us to opt out of certain days either using PTO or taking the day off unpaid. Because I used PTO on those days, I had none left to spare when my kid was sick one day in December, so they denied me a promotion, while telling me that they expect me to take more of a leadership role in the workplace. Then I missed another day due to a car accident now they’re considering firing me.
