Many Americans 65 and older are financially secure enough to retire. They're leaving the workforce, and the 69-year couple cited in the article plan to spend more time camping and volunteering.
Isn't that awful? The nerve of these people deciding not to work until they drop dead! They're increasing costs for employers! We can't have that. It will result in workers making more money as available labor becomes more scarce. More terrible news!
Shouldn't we celebrate the fact that people in their 60s are retiring? Isn't that what's supposed to happen?
