Signed a complaint my boss had written about me, and now I regret it.

I've worked for this company for 4 years as a salesman, 3 of said years has been as their top saleman, I'm the only one doing more than I need to. My colleagues will do the absolute minimum but due to covid we've had a lot of free time so people just chill and waste time waiting to clock out. I prefer to just work as times moves faster, I do however chill at the end of the day when our assignments are finished. This Monday morning I was pulled into my CEOs office, he own multiple businesses so we rarely see him, and this was first time seeing him in months. He tells me to sit down, his wife is standing becides him and my manager who has only been with us for a few months sits next to me as well. He asks me if I know why…

This Monday morning I was pulled into my CEOs office, he own multiple businesses so we rarely see him, and this was first time seeing him in months.

He tells me to sit down, his wife is standing becides him and my manager who has only been with us for a few months sits next to me as well.

He asks me if I know why I'm here (his office) and I just look confused at him and shake my head. Apparently my manager thinks I have an affair with my female colleague who is single, which of course I do not. She and me are pure platonic and often go out for beers after work, she also knows my fiancée.

I asked if this was a joke and tried to explain myself but he basically said I should shut the fuck up and “sometimes it's best to just take a beating and move on”, follow by maybe I should look elsewhere for employment if I don't feel challenged enough here. And a shit ton of BS.

This CEO gave me a raise a few months ago cause I was offered a better job at their competitors. So if they hate me so much, why the fuck would he offer a raise just to be pissed about it and say it wasn't deserved?

The whole thing felt like an ambush, 15 minutes prior we had been sitting in the break room all of us for a morning meeting where we ate breakfast together, while discussing business but also just normal everyday talks and laughing together.

So after all the yelling and bs accusations he handed me a paper to sign saying we needed to “get the formel stuff in order”. The paper basically said I was being inappropriate with my colleague and it was affecting my job performance and I should change that before facing job related consequences (being fired).

Thinking back i feel like I should have refused to sign but the whole “ambush” just happened so fast and unexpected. I think they're just looking for an excuse to fire me, which I don't mind cause our management is quite toxic and I've should have left long ago. I am looking for a new job but I'll still be stuck here for at least 2 months.

Just needed to vent a bit while on break, sorry for my English, I'm European. And thanks for reading.
