I personally have 2 meetings each month. They are both 30 minutes. One of them is a 1 on 1, just me and my manager. The other is a “Team Huddle” where the manager provides updates and whatnot for 30 minutes. Essentially This happens every two weeks. One meeting the first two weeks, second meeting the last.
I literally go 14 days (sometimes more) with ZERO communication from my company, then have a 30 min meeting, then Repeat.
My question is, is this normal these days?
I spend an hour each month talking to my manager. That's 12 hours a year (since March 2020). All other communications with my company are done via email that they hope we are reading.
I have been struggling to advance my career and I feel lost in corporate America. I was hoping my manager would be able to help me develop and guide me into a career with this company because I cannot seem to figure out how to do so.
I am struggling to see how that would be possible if I only talk to this person for 1 hour a month.
Is this a normal work from home experience?
How often does your manager communicate with you if you are working from home full-time?
(I should say I AM actively trying to leave, but just curious how others' experience is. I find it super odd that I hardly talk to the company(and my manager) I work 8 hours a day for.)
