I quit today!

Went in expecting to survive a short and routine shift. It was neither! To foster impossible targets being reached, they put me on a completely new section I had almost literally no experience in and took seventy minutes to do one pallet because I kept looking for where things were. My target is supposed to be 25 minutes, which *even if* things aren't messed up and I know what I'm doing is…let's just say, not all that easy (IE unreasonable). I just. It's not happening. I waited for my break, loaded up on goods and used my 10% discount card the last time. Parked the goods in the staff room, asked a colleague to radio over a supervisor so I can cash my till out and I handed in my log-in fob and discount card and fucked off.

There's an iron wall of stupid, numbers and policies that my immediate supervisors can't do shit about because it's *their* higher ups. If you have issues, you can talk to them and then…more than likely, nothing will happen, because people are identical cogs that all must be able to do the same thing. You're not allowed to focus on your strong area because we have these TARGETS, you see, and you have to meet them.

Oh and there aren't enough people. And the ones that were there were overworked. They ask you to do 2 jobs at once (Customer assistant *and cleaner*) if you are closing, but only pay you 1 wage. Fuck that shit, right to the center of the earth.

I have time now. I have freedom.

I'll be slamming a few games while figuring out my next step path.

Already socially asked around at the better, closer supermarket if they have job openings, so we'll see :->.

Feels so good!

For bonus points, my supervisor I had cash me out nearly broke down into tears because she thoughtfelt it was personal that I quit on *her* shift somehow. (We had a yelling match a few days ago for her giving me shit and me not taking it), but I just had enough of voicing concerns, needs, and being sidelined and the one big problem was just “yeah, yeah” 'd away constantly. If the company isn't interested in accommodating a basic need so I can continue giving the customers at this place excellent and cheerful service, the other place will be. It seriously is not my loss.

But that my supervisor would honestly commit to a “Why on *my* shift?” is uh.

Well that should tell you plenty.

And if that doesn't, *I can*.
