Advice needed: Pending Short Term Disability claim as i come back to work, employer place me on unpaid status. As FT employee I am eligible for paid leave upon approval. However I plan on resigning due to declining health, can i still receive pay for STD after approval, once i resign?

Hope this makes sense. I had to go on Short Term Disability leave for a little while. During this time, employer did not pay me. I am still working with the 3rd party company that handles my claim to get it approved per my healthcare providers. However i plan to resign and just focus on my health. If i resign before STD approval, can i still receive pay? As FT employee i am eligible for partial pay once approved. Thank you all for your generosity.
