No increase in my pay because I have a responsibility as a Stepfather.

Just had my evaluation. I've explained to both doctors and my manager that I've had to step up as a stepfather to help with my boys(seven and nine years old) when it comes to dropping off at school(school early breakfast opens at 7am) and picking up from daycare. The daycare is a branch of the school that is technically open til six. There's a fat fee for being late after six and a $20 charge for every minute after that. The only road there is the main road from my job to their school. Back roads would take the same amount of time if not longer. Not to mention that, recently, they've begun construction that has most the road down to two lanes. My fiance is studying to become a nurse. She's about to start and second semester and begins clinicals this summer. She also sometimes is going to campus…

She also sometimes is going to campus for chemistry and such.

All that said, I've taken the responsibility of taking the boys to school or picking them up. It makes me a few minutes late or having to leave a bit early. I'm expected to work out my schedule and talk with my the doctors about making it so I can stay just to clean(working at a vet clinic). Not to mention, finding out a way to be on time even if I'm having to drop the boys at school. Again, school doesn't open til 7am. I'm not leaving my house at the school for half an hour just to be on time. That's a ridiculous request.

I've been denied a bump in my pay because of this conflict with the schedule for being five minutes late(even though my coworkers are here) or leaving ten minutes early.

One coworker leaves at 4:45 for no reason other than getting his wife from work. And my manager leaves at five for literally no reason at all. He doesn't show until 8-8:30am. Clinic opens at 7:30am.

Am I overreacting and expecting to much from my employer?
