So this new company I started with gets shipment every Thursday, I was originally told at 3am, but it’a been coming in at 2am. My boss tells us usually the day before what time it’s supposed to get to the store. I’ve been on the schedule 2am-1030am
All the employees keep talking about how we’re supposed actually leave once all the shipment is completely put out and that can take well over 8 hours. No management has ever told me to stay until everything out. I’ve been leaving at 10:30- that’s my scheduled time, and they do seem kinda funny when I say I’m leaving. Other coworkers told me to ask to leave but I feel I shouldn’t have to do that if I’m scheduled.
I’m waiting for them to say something because no way am I staying past my scheduled time.
Is this normal and legal for a company to do? To make people stay past their scheduled time?
