I walked out of a job “interview” today

After submitting my resume on indeed, i got a text from the manager of the place to come in for an interview and to “try” their clinic ( i was applying for medical receptionist position). The manager sounded lovely over the phone but oh boy when i came in, no discussions or interview, she just asked me to sit down in front of a computer, gave me the doctors schedule and asked me to take answer phone calls while giving the bare minimum information about their clinic.

They wanted me to stay 8 hours and do the trial shift, without payment . I said okay (wasnt planning on doing the full 8 hours, but i wanted this job so i wanted to try ). While sitting there I was left to fend for myself , the manager occasially came by my side and I asked questions. I was confident i could do the job thanks to having 5+ experience in the field but was still struggling because of the bare minimum information i was given.

While i was sitting there taking calls for about 2 hours, Ive noticed how rude the manager and the receptionist was to patients (I could hear the other receptionist yelling at a pt over the phone). That was the last straw, I stood up to grab my jacket , Manager thought i was going to the washroom, I said “Nope, Im leaving, you were nice over the phone, I wish the same could be said meeting you”. I walked out and never looked back. Fuck them, I was so excited when i was called in for an interview but it was all just a sham.
