We all know what she said (her wonderful advice for women to get up and work). I had a lot of respect for her before because she’s been going through it due to her divorce and she’s had a lot to deal with before all that. But when she said all we had to do was get up and work, my blood boiled.
The hardest part of her job is reading mean comments???? The hardest parts of mine are 1) being berated by customers over the phone and 2) being paid just enough to scrape by but still worry about finances. She seriously thinks that we didn’t think of just getting up and working??? How out of touch do you have to be to make a statement like that.
It’s easy when you can hire people to run your household, help with kids, dress you, and feed you. She doesn’t have to worry about getting to work or whether she will be able to stay within her budget for groceries that week. No. She just posts selfies and drags the working classes for checks notes not working enough!!! When gas prices are increasing, the minimum wage has yet to increase to a living wage, and there’s a fake epidemic of “no one wants to work because of stimulus money” going around.
She does not represent what we work for. She does not understand how we live. We survive and that’s all we can afford. She does not get to make statements about what we should and shouldn’t do to fix society’s problems! Frankly I hope she gets so much backlash for this.
