I worked at bed bath and beyond fresh out of prison….I got the job trying to holler at rich old chicks under the guise of telling them about a good knife. I was the best sale's they ever had. They no longer do employee reviews because of me….the whole wall was me. The best one said they came in to get something I started talking about something else they already owned. I helped them with what they needed then continued to talk about this thing and they bought it…….WHAT
I wasn't being paid enough…..the manigers knew and were ok with the fact I was selling drugs on parole to pay my mortgage……they hired the new employees at a higher pay rate……i told them to increase my pay they told me I'd get my scheduled raise and I pointed out I'm the top seller and my pay will neaver equal theres except a couple months when I deserved more….I was getting like 25-30 hours and from about labor day to the end of the year I was 16 sales short of the top 100 in the country for the year.
Once they told me no I demanded the raise I'm owed early and a 50 cent increase….. upper management said no
My managers said I get paid to do what they say not to think but a traveling maniger came and did everything I said
Corporate says 1. Coustomer service 2. Safety
So I helped customers and if they didn't need my help I helped anyway or just talked to them to make there shopping experience better or I followed them just in case they needed help.
If there were no customers I did 3 laps of the store (not fast…..I was very fit I moved verry fast usually) because the manigers actively discouraged code 11s (when you use a ladder someone has to watch)
Then there's a policy where everything in the stock room must be represented on the floor and the manigers refused to stock it and were cracking jokes…..I drew the line there
I repeatedly made displays and put tables out repeatedly…..Id hid them in corners and shit then they hid them on me and I would slip into my sales pitch what's going on like “this blender is real nice it has 10 speeds and a lifetime guarantee also the manigers at bed bath and beyond store #824 don't believe that your children deserve to have the opportunity to meet Jesus” then tell them about corporate policy and the manigers cracking jokes about how there not going to do there job. After 3 months they had Jewish people secret shop me (because I was telling people they can leave employee reviews on me or the maniger) and 3 Jewish people were offended that Jesus exists or whatever (I'm not a Christian religion is actually a tool to keep you from God)
Here's where shit gets crazy
The gave the #2 guy in the region come into fire me…..I was just in a race riot the day before….I got attacked by 30 people there was a machete 2 kitchen knives a rolling pin a bat and a revolver and I just had a pairing knife…so at work I have a 10 inch oxo knife from bed bath and beyond and ive got a knife on the floor (some of them were teenagers and everyone knew where I worked)
He told me I'm fired then he told me to do something and I went off on him like I don't work here you can't tell me shit they sent you here because your big if you stand up I'm going to fuck you up….then I go to leave and I announce the knife before I get near my locker I take it out and put it 5 feet away…..there freaking out in an office 15 feet away but they won't close the door…..I pointed it out to them……then the #2 guy comes out and trys to push my knife under the locker and he's lucky I just pushed him then I have.have a 10 inch knife in my hand and I'm.like 3 feet from this guy and I'm.like fuck there's no cameras…….so I drag the knife on the floor downstairs and outside and as soon as I go outside I'm surrounded by officers with there guns drawn and I'm like I almost got killed yester you guys aren't going to shoot I'm smoking a cigarette before we go to jail (I've had 3 standoffs I've won them all)
The police brought me to the station but didn't charge me
I forgot something….both my manigers we're in the army and acted mad tough like they beat up dudes because there really like that….once someone said to do something or I'd get punched and I didn't take that the way they intended…..or maby I did I took that as an attempt to make me there bitch so over the radio I announced a by Choice for fun fight club in the back room with mattress pads as a ring. I was very persistent, constantly reminding them about how they both beat up active army personnel and pointing out what a good team building exercise it would be
I was charged for that and at trial my lawyer didn't really do much then rested his case after they presented there case instead of presenting his and I won
I got both manigers fired
