I work at a small marketing company, and my boss keeps saying he can't pay us more for a number of reasons:
– High CLT taxes
– Low company revenue
– High system costs and other services, among others.
Im Brazilian, so something doesn't make sense for USA, let me explain:
- CLT is the regulation for workers
- MEI is a way of contracting without paying any labor rights legally, as if the person were a company
- The salaries and costs I put are monthly, as this is how we calculate in Brazil
And that's okay, many employees aged 30 and over still live with their parents, so they can make ends meet on low pay. In addition, some are relevant, as they arrived at the company without knowing anything and the boss gave them the opportunity to learn while receiving half a salary and today they can work in front of a PC and not in the sun.
Mr. Boss asked us to do our best in this difficult period because customers are not paying and salary may be delayed in the coming months. Meanwhile, he is currently in Mykonos, Greece.
I have my sources in the financial sector of the company and I found that it is not quite like that, the biggest cost by far is the boss himself and his wife. He withdraws 70k per month and she takes 15k per month, meanwhile the system costs 30k, taxes 25k and the payroll (with 20 employees) costs 35k (there is 1 employee who receives 8k) that is, all employees receive half of the which he alone takes away. This is far from unfair, it's ridiculous.
He doesn't know how to program, he doesn't know how to design a screen, manage a system, a team, why does he earn all that!?
He still complains that the employees don't give their lives, don't have a feeling of ownership etc… Half of the employees are MEI and no one has any benefits, anything to comment? It's a joke.
PLOT: I am related to Mr. Boss, I'm among the MEI, and I'm not the one who earns 9k. I'm pissed off and I'm the first to rebel.
