I’m currently employed, been with the company for 10 years and I’m finally exploring other avenues. I have worked my way up the corporate ladder and done well for myself. However I have found a company I am really interested in working for based on the company values, so I have started applying for a couple jobs within the company. During my interviews they always ask, why are you looking to leave X company? I want to say because this is the same job that I currently do, you posted your salary range and even your starting pay is significantly higher than my current salary, why wouldn’t I want to make a move?? But that is socially unacceptable! How do you answer this question? And why is it even asked? Clearly if someone is looking for a new job they aren’t happy with their current one for a Myriad of reasons!
