I work a production job. We were promised when we got a 3rd shift going we'd not be working Saturdays anymore. Third shift started and has been running for 8 months. We finally stopped working 10s two months ago. But we're still working Saturdays.
They then told us, “when the new machine is running, the OT will stop.” Well, starting today we're running the new machine 20 hours a day and that means we're all back to working 5x10s and an 8 on Saturday. We're told when our other new machine comes in May, the OT will stop.
About 1/3 of my shift is looking for a new job now.
