Company I recently left just went through a big round of layoffs this morning – didn’t pay remaining employees bonuses that were scheduled for deposit today.

I left for a much better job, but it kinda bummed me out that I wasn't going to get my annual bonus due to leaving before the review period, but then I found out they laid off a bunch of people today and after telling everyone bonuses were scheduled for direct deposit today (3.15), nobody received them – reason being they paid severance to those who got canned. Imagine telling your remaining workforce that busted their ass all of last year they aren't getting a bonus that you already said was scheduled for direct deposit, and telling them the day of, when it's already supposed to be in their bank account? Totally fucked move.
