Advice Needed as Employer is asking me for a record of the days I’ve been Out of Office or have Worked from Home

I started a job about 4 months ago after being unemployed for 6+ months and burning through $10k in savings in the process. I'm aware of the main ethos behind this sub but I really need advice. When I interviewed for the job I was offered it on the spot. I made it clear to them that I had a number of Doctors appointments over the next few months to ensure it would not be a problem and even indicated that many of the days I had appointments I would be able to work from home to minimize the amount of time I missed (I can perform all functions of my job remotely). They said this would be no problem and that they would work with me. However, today I received an email asking for me to compile a list of the day's I've been Out of Office/Unavailable or have…

However, today I received an email asking for me to compile a list of the day's I've been Out of Office/Unavailable or have Worked from Home. Unfortunately I work with management that is of the opinion that if I don't see you, you're not working (despite a number of employees who pretty much strictly work remotely).

I guess I'm asking for advice on how to handle this situation and specifically a way to 'politically' ask why exactly this is being brought up or is now an issue? I compiled the info but have not shared it with them yet. I'm going to post it here for further insight.

Any advice would be appreciated. I cannot afford to lose this job, we are just barely getting our head's above water and just this month we will (hopefully) get caught up on all of our bills. Please be kind in any replies, I can't take anything negative right now as I'm already panicking that they are going to try and use this to fire me.

I rarely post so please let me know if anything is incorrect or if I should remove my post. Thank you to anyone who takes the time to give me advice.*
