Update: I’ll talk down to you because I’m on the board. How dare you question our authority?

Day 4 of Cotati-Rohnert Park Cotati School District continues as Board Members continue to choose not to attend negotiations but instead send in their high priced attorneys. RPCEA has been in negotiations for 10 months and has yet to see a board member show up, finally the superintendent shows up to the table only for her to stall and continue to insist that the fact finder was incorrect and there are not funds. To date the school district has accrued a bill for $66K in legal fees, they have money for fancy lawyers and to help us hide from the community and teachers, but we will not pay a fair and living wage. When will the board and superintendent admit to additional funds in revenue and that they are choosing to nickel and dime their teachers. At today's board meeting the board continued show contempt for the community. In particular Mr. Leffler Brown who talked down and continued to make threats of insolvency and state takeovers. He voted to restrict extension of public comment. Clearly he doesn't want to hear from his own community who he has been elected to serve. Remember you voted for the buildings you are now complaining about. Perhaps it's time for him to leave since he ran a billion dollar business for HP and we are all beneath him. He should be ashamed of his actions and how on his watch the administration has bloated and teacher pay has lagged. His legacy will be buildings with no teachers.

Don't tell the community you can't find $6.2M in funds when you won't even show up to the table. When you won't meet with RPCEA then all RPCEA can do is share with you information in a memo to your doorstep. Board Members don't show up to meetings, respond to emails or calls; So how should RPCEA and the community engage?

Stop the threats, if you can't figure this out then let's have the state step in. Ideal threats don't mean anything.

See you on the picket line!
