My job is going to lose their best worker and they have no idea

So i work for a contracted logistics company that is employed by HONDA, at first everything was going great, job is easy, pay was decent, environment is good too, sounds like the perfect job almost. Well, thats what i would say if it wasnt for how they have handled things recently, a position got announced for 1st shift Team Lead, i basically do this job everyday on 2nd shift when my TL isn't present. I apply and the contact manager is excited about my interest, as well as the 1st shift Supervisor.

All is going well until yesterday, in which i found out that one of the applicants (J) is getting some 1 on 1 training with the TL that is leaving. I found this out from another applicant (M) that is doing some overtime on 1st shift right now, and there's some credit to this as J had their name all over our monthly report we fill out.

My belief is that my job is doing this promotion under the table and giving it to who they want to have it, and not give the people who have been doing it the whole time.

So my revenge, im going to start applying for a new job, and once i have a start date with the new job, I'll have a meeting with the contract manager and the 1st shift Supervisor and basically tell them that what they did was uncalled for and complete bs and not how they should be running the contract, and then I'll demand a raise to $25/hr for the slap in the face this whole thing has been to me.

They're going to give me a run around and pull my leg and give me other bs as to why they cant pay me what i ask, and I'll immediately quit on the spot infront of them, effectively giving them the same amount of notice they gave me on the promotion.

Fuck these employers!
