We need to recognize we are not in capitalism right now, and these problems of underpayment would not occur in capitalism, this is because capitalism would allow us to have a free market which would lead to a flourishing economy, along with this if we had actual capitalism which is anarcho capitalism we can hold companies responsible ourselves, if we saw a company performing in bad ethics, we can regulate them, instead y’all want the government to regulate them, tell me one time the government ever did anything correct, there’s also no evidence to suggest that companies would raise prices if the cost of goods didn’t go up aswell, usually this is because y’all are not looking at the whole picture, whenever something occurs in the economy in the littlest of ways it can affect the economy majorly, here’s an example that’s happening right now: Ukraine supplies a lot of our wheat, barley, rye, etc. and this caused food prices to increase but not only that this means people have to spend more money on food and can’t spend more money on other markets of the economy, companies like McDonald’s may have to raise their food prices not only because their cost of products are higher now but also because less people will be eating there since they don’t have as many customers, there’s many different factors to take into account in the account instead of just the direct affect
