So i work at a decent size enginnering firm. I started at the bottom and worked my way up with night courses etc.
However after grinding it out i didnt end up anyway better than those that didnt do this. I was never considered for promotion even tho the company boasted several internal promotions a year. I could have taken at least 3 of these.
I also never missed a day and was never late in fact i arrived before my shift to work.
I never felt so unappreciated. I guess i also struggle with confidence. That i didnt think i could leave.
I finally decided to do it so typed it up emailed it and went home. The next day i had a meeting with my line manager i told him i want to leave.
I felt like he was clutching at straws like the carpet was pulled. He really thought i would stay there forever at least thats how it looked to me
Sorry for the rant. But i found a job in a great company i get 20% more for less work also they allow am early start and finish. Its early days but it seems so much better even tho its a smaller company.
The end of the day the ceo called a meeting with me to which he asked me to stay till easter.
