Context: I had to take a job to support myself while I attempt to freelance. The hiring manager was a little dodgey about how payment worked. She said something about the 15th and the 30th of the month. Well, it's been 3 weeks and I haven't seen a dime (it's the 18th, started on the 3rd). At this point I am so angry and sad I don't even know what to do. Are there any laws about when someone will get paid for their work? They sent me a “paystub” that was encrypted and then refused to give me the password. I have no idea what is going on. It is a well established business.
