Applying for a teaching job, I thought I'd use an Applicant Tracking System scanner to see how my resume compared to the job description. Apparently, I need to work on my child development, confidentiality, office equipment, high expectations AND substance abuse if I want to be taken seriously or even be seen as a candidate. I matched at a 25/100 with 3 years of direct experience, and my resume was tailored for my current teaching job.
My family friend has a PHD, and she found out that ATS parsed her name (Dr. Jane Doe, PHD) as Dr. PHD, first and last.
One of the many reasons I hate applying for jobs.
