Should I tell my employer that I do not want to give up my free time anymore?

So, little bit of info: I recently switched jobs, thinking it would make me happier. I soon found out that it didn't. Shortly after that I found Antiwork, talked to lots of people and my whole vision towards “Going the extra mile” and “Always improve yourself so you can do more” changed. I do my job properly, but I was hired when I still had the intention of taking on extra courses and maybe even get an education for the field. Normally I would tell anyone to not give up their free time for an employer who will replace them in a heartbeat. But I am a bit torn because I did promise them that I would. I want to sell my labor for the correct value and duration. Some advice or stories of people who have been in this situation would help. Thanks
