Would I be wrong refuse a task that isn’t in my job description?

I got into an argument with a coworker just now because I refuse to accept tasks that involve me tabling or leaving my formal office to advertise our programs alongside some other tasks related to driving. First, it’s not in my job description. I just work the front desk and do day to day clerical work. Second, I’m one of the only two non salaried employees in this office. I don’t receive any benefits and only make $17/hr. This office wouldn’t even reimburse me on gas if they needed me to go somewhere.I’m not going to take on more responsibility if it’s not reflected in my compensation.
