I have a rare blood disease called hemochromatosis. I’ve passed out twice from it this month, and I just found out what it was this month and need to go through blood testing and other medical stuff to confirm and get proper treatment for it.
My boss has told me many times before- this is just a job, it’s not worth risking your life over. My assistant manager has said otherwise.
She straight up blew up at me this morning because I had to call out for a headache that affected my vision- and I’m a driver so I operate a company vehicle.
These are copies of the texts I went through this morning.
Me: Hey, blank said it was cool but I should let you know- I woke up this morning with a really bad headache and I can’t keep my eyesight straight. It hasn’t gone away since I woke up and I’ve been in misery; so I had to call out
AM: Ok you have to call out to a manager. Not blank.
I’ve said that a few times and it’s posted on Homebase
Please call out to the correct people
Also please work on your attendance this is becoming an every week thing.
Me: Will do. I actually almost forgot to mention, I finally got a dr’s appointment booked but it’s not until the 30th. My office has been pretty booked
AM: Ok well I thought you were going last week when you called out?
Me: I tried to get a same day appointment, but especially with blood work and stuff it’s hard to book that same day
AM: These things we have to be timely about. Please check urgent care or the er for those type of things
This was something brought up a couple weeks ago.
Me: I’m sorry about that, it’s been frustrating on my end too. I honestly just wanna be healthy, I’m sick of dealing with my body throwing curveballs at me
She has not since replied to that last text lol. It’s just really frustrating because getting blood work done is a process and it’s not something I can exactly walk into a urgent care for. She knows all this so honestly I’m not sure why she’s acting like this. It’s not like I’ve called out a bunch this month either, I’ve only called out twice this month for medical reasons. There were people who called out of the morning shift three times in a row a few weeks back. I had to cover for them too, and the customers have started to recognize me as very reliable because I’m always the one delivering their order.
They’ve been pulling a bunch of bullshit as a whole this month and we’re loosing one of the best dispatchers we have at the end of the month, she’s already put her two weeks in. Its very frustrating and I guess I needed to vent because the treatment I’m getting seems a little unfair.
