I worked in a hospital and they were giving bonuses for picked up shifts. I asked my manager if i get the bonus because i work a casual shift (6 shifts in a month). She said absolutely and she’d love my help whenever possible. It came to me picking up shifts (over night too) for a good month trying to get this bonus ($4 extra per hour). She also said i don’t get holiday pay(even though they scheduled me every holiday). Now it never showed on my paystubs and after confronting her she went back on her word and said she made a mistake that i won’t get it since i work a casual shift. She also said i have to work all the holidays since I’m casual. I replied back with my resignation letter.
Edit: i have emails and scheduling app where she says I’ll be getting the bonus. This is very surprising because i work for one of the best hospital in the nationwide and worldwide with #1 physicians nationwide on my side.
It sucks that truly an employer will never pay you enough to be their neighbor- remember that when it comes to an employment pyramid.
