Howdy! Been working in insurance for almost two years. I started during the pandemic as a completely work from home employee, this last month they've moved us to a hybrid schedule with two days per week in the office. Frankly, it's really sucked having to go into that enormous office and fend off small talk from people I hate and I'm now officially looking for other work. But what's worse than that, they now seem hellbent on not using any of the benefits of the work from home infrastructure they set up at great expense and STILL HAVE ME USING THREE DAYS A WEEK.
I was recently hit by some kid in a parking lot and don't have access to my car until it's fixed. I wouldn't have even been out in my car at the time if I hadn't been forced to go into the office these last few weeks but I digress. I texted my manager to basically let him know I'd be working from home on my scheduled office days due to my car and he told me they have to be very strict on the office schedule and that I need to use my time off and not work if I can't make it into the office on my days.
This is, of course, absolutely fucking bonkers. I've actually spent the last two days actively arguing with management to allow me to do my job! And they WON'T BUDGE!! AND WE'VE BEEN CHRONICALLY UNDERSTAFFED FOR MORE THAN A YEAR!!!
Whatever, thanks for giving me the free time to find another job I guess.
