I posted something similar as a response to a comment in a different sub, and thought it might fit well here as it can apply to a subset of the antiwork mindset. Please feel free to add to the list.
Following the tips of this list won't be for everyone, but works great in corporate desk jobs all the way to C-Level.
If you do this right, you will fail upwards and have a great career with a lot of free time. This works especially good in home-office (yes, I realize the implications).
Basic rules at work:
-even if you are doing nothing, always tell everyone how busy you are and how much stress you are under
-always walk as if you are late to a very important meeting, carry a laptop or a notebook
-Reschedule calls / meetings at random due to “overlaps” that don't exist; schedule meetings for yourself with important names, where only you are attending (“Reporting Deadline”, “Leadership Prep”, etc.), go for a coffee and/or take a nap instead. feel free to schedule a meeting room for a nice hour long break.
-always shift responsibility to others, never accept blame but always say you will find a solution by talking to “those who are responsible”
-study and internalize everything in the book “How to win friends and influence people” and apply it to all your communications
-always ask for extensions on all deadlines, always mention how extremely busy you are and how much work you have to do
-do small bursts of work where you get the most important things done, and push everything else to someone else or some time else – figure out which tasks are absolutely required, and which are just noise / wont piss off the wrong people if they aren't done
-put effort into appearances; dress sharp
-look for opportunities to expose yourself to senior leadership (show your face)
