Product/service brand loyalty: Customers are loyal to a brand and actively want to buy their products. Think Apple diehards vs. Samsung diehards. Or Pepsi loyalists vs. Coke loyalists.
Employment brand loyalty: Old school, short-sighted, and a myth. There is no good reason to give your loyalty to any company that you don't own. Even if you like your job, if you like the people with whom you work, that doesn't equate to loyalty (or it shouldn't) to the job nor employer.
Firms are not loyal to you. That's not their job. Their job is to be loyal to their business interests.
Your job is be loyal to your business interests (YOU).
A job is not a human being. A job is not you. It's what you do (and you may be great at it), but it's not who you are. Don't give your self-esteem nor your happiness with you to any job.
