I work for a small company (job shop) as the sole engineer (in 7 years I've seen 3 other engineers come and go). We are currently looking for another engineer and upon finding the job listing, they're advertising 25% more on the high-end than what I'm currently making. I'm handedly their best employee and work hard to make things operate smoothly here. I'm extremely tempted to ask my boss what I need to do in order to get that extra 25% that they're advertising TO A NEW EMPLOYEE! Retention is not a huge issue here, but it's about to be. Just looking for advice!
