So it's become painfully apparent that I will be fired on Friday. Friday is the beginning of a new pay period, my boss is never in the office on Fridays and two HR reps are attending for the morning meeting.
I've been on a Performance Improvement Plan (PIP) since December 1st and in hindsight it's been obvious that my boss has just been gathering info to cover their ass to fire me. The whole thing feels super dirty. I'm not the best employee in the world but definitely not the worst. I just have no problem telling my boss I think what he's asking me to do is dumb.
The company is awful and I was working on leaving anyway but I'm not looking forward to having a firing on my record.
Just a friendly rant of the dumb shit work will do to you.
General advice, once you're out on a PIP, start looking for another job ASAP.
