So I work in a halfway decent environment, not awful but also not where I wanna be. Anyways turns out one of my colleagues and (retail fwiw) has apparently been telling associates (we hold lower management rolls) that I said something to make him so mad he hates me. I’m not bothered by him hating me, but I am bothered he’s involving more severely underpaid employees that have no business in his personal drama, an associate was the one to tell me about this. I have no idea what I could’ve said to make him hate me, nor do I care, he should’ve taken it up with HR if it’s that bad. What actions am I able to take in order for him to realize that what he did was unethical? Would it be within my rights to bring this issue to HR?
TLDR: Not sure how, but made someone I was okay with hate me and now he’s telling underpaid employees his personal beef with me, what can I do?
