I've only been working there a few months, nothing serious just a gas station job until I find something decent. So, from the beginning I felt like an outcast, I guess, no real formal training, whenever I'd ask a question, I would get either an eyeroll or, a sigh and even sometimes attitude and negativity for no reason whatsoever. This one guy I worked with from time to time didn't like me, for whatever reason I don't know. Anyways I come into work on my off day to get some things to drink and what not, guy who doesn't like me rings me up, he starts off by aggressively scanning my drinks slamming the scanner down every time instead of just holding it consecutively. He then asks for my rewards card, there is a line of people behind me at this point (I am recently coming to terms with the fact i have really bad anxiety), I tell him it's all good, he quickly responded with “No it aint all good”. Then dude goes on a rant about I'm an employee I have to have the rewards and by him not scanning my card it “fucks up his accuracy”. At this point I just stop talking use my card soon as it says accepted, I walk tf out all the while he's ranting to customers now about the “whole ordeal”. Told the GM about it, she said I'll talk to him. Didn't change a damn thing. Fast forward to yesterday (which is about 2 and a half maybe 3 weeks since this happened), I was scheduled 10am-6pm FROM THE MINUTE I CLOCKED IN Could feel this dude like in a bad mood, I ask if there's anything that needs to be done or if he needs to do anything, this guy looks me dead in the eyes and says “you gotta stop asking people questions and figure shit out on your own”. Instantly kills my mood, I shrug it off start doing stuff like stocking and sweeping etc. Thats strike #1. I get a customer, ring them up and they had a few things and needed a bag, I see a roll of bags on the counter in between 2 registers (My thought was it was there to restock the registers because we haven't had any of those recently) I set up the bag roll on my side, not even 2 seconds late dude walks up and goes “Look, it's like this, see we don't have any bags that's why they were sitting there, you should have realized this because you worked yesterday” (which I didn't, I was off for 2 days but whatever”. And he says this with an aggressive tone. That's strike #2. Strike #3 is two instances spanned out about 5 minutes from each other. Customer asks for a Lotto ticket that 2 days ago we were out of for about a week, we also got new games in and the ticket row on my register was empty I assumed we were still out, nope dude starts his shit again “Look, it's like this, you should've checked the other registers first, c'mon man you been here long enough”, Then he just starts ranting for like 5 whole minutes so I walk away and grab 2 cartons of smokes that were empty, as soon as I began to open one this motherfucker comes up pulls down his mask with the utmost attitude and almost yells at me because someone still has to count them even though I just asked the dude who has to count them if it was okay. I'm fucking pissed at this point and shaking from anxiety and adrenaline, I grab a broom and go outside and sweep up a little, I then check my phone and haven't even been there for a fucking hour yet and all this shit happened. I collect my thoughts I put on a fake happy face go back in after about 20 minutes, I cash out a few customers, one guy had a money order where there was a miscommunication between the amount of sed money order, dude comes up “fixes” the situation then tells me to go on break. So I did, I went on break and went home. Texted my Gm told her I quit and that i cant work in a hostile work environment, there were also other problems going on there like people threatening to shoot up the store over asking them for an I.D to buy beer, also have a few mentally ill homeless people who beg for cash and scream at people when they say no, also some shady night shift shit going on that I want no part in at all. Sorry this is so long didn't intend for it to be. But yea Fuck Them.
